let the hours pass

Missed the commuter train? So what! Here's a comfy bench.

I like the train passing.... and the bench so solid and cold.... it is a good shot, that all Norwegian newspapers should use these days, We have a serious problem with NSB who have too many train that are delayed day after day. People are soon giving up using the trains.... And than people are saying "Look to Sweden, they manage..." ..... when it is snow and cold.
Now the NSB have to pay for taxi to the passengers who have waited more than 30 minutes out in the snow.... for train that don`t turn up.
(I am using the bus these days.)

Comfy for penguins, maybe... Trains are mess here, just to be short.

Nice to sit there?
I usually walk on the platform to get my 10000 steps a day...No lost time...

erm, i don;t think it would be comfy for me, i mean, the bench's still cold as ice, the ground is filled with "white"!
i can almost feel just how brrr... it must be. ^0^
can;t wait to get home and have a sip of warm cocoa instead.

Nicely design bench. I don't think I would like to seat there with so much snow though. ;)

To set the record straight, there are 2-4 departures per hour in both directions so - whether you've missed your train or not - there's no need to hang around for hours.

Gunn White: Sorry to hear about your commuting difficulties. In fact, the story is rather well known here too so don't look too much to Sweden - we've had our fair share of similar difficulties as well. A lot has improved in recent years though. I suppose a new generation is learning to cope with old-style winters...

VP: Comfy for penguins! That comment had me laughing. In fairness, you do have a point. Not entirely comfortable for a lengthy meditation.

Lena Johansson: 10000 steps? Very good! Just keep walking and you'll stay warm as well.

arabesque: Warm cocoa is in fact a superb idea. To be honest, this particular evening wasn't comfortable at all and that's why I took my camera for a bit of battery testing.

Luis Gomez: I agree, the design is really nice.

JM: An old train in fact, behind the reasonably new bench with some very recent snow.

cieldequimper: The walrus had taken the day off, thanks for asking! ;)

Gerald: Spot on. Very popular during most of the year - but not quite at the moment.

Halcyon: Überraschend angenehm!

Don't miss your trains, folks.

Beautiful composition with the blurred train in the background. Methinks, though, I'd probably stand to wait for the next train rather than sit in a pile of snow...

Per, brunch at the Corcoran is $38, plus if you are going to see the exhibit you have to pay a range of $ 12 to 18 more depending on the exhibit.

Awww look at that beautiful powdery snow!

As for running a good train service, don't look at us, we struggle with 2 inches of snow, let alone anything more substantial...

There are stone benches with internal heating in one of our subway stations. Imagine that!

Jacob: I suppose everyone has a favourite bench somewhere. Possibly without any snow on it?

Luis Gomez: OK, I might skip brunch after all then. But the artsy concept does look inviting.

Tinsie: A powdery layer of wintry happiness - at least for those of us with enough clothes on and a home to return to afterwards. This is not a good time to be homeless.

Appreciate your stopping by, folks.
