dog days of summer

A heads up to dog owners near and far. Do be careful when you leave your furry friend confined to a car in the sun. In this case the window was clearly open and the car driver soon returned so this little fellow probably enjoyed being an Important Guardian of Stuff with a good view of the parking lot and - incidentally - not far from that Echinops sphaerocephalus.

You made me smile: you have found a nice way to tell a story and send a polite message with a really good portrait of this little dog.

Hell, that's cruel! Poor thing! Glad the dog owner returned ever so quickly.

Our summers are relatively mild when compared to many other places (mind you - still too warm for me but that's a different story) and it's one of life's mysteries how a parked car can get so incredibly hot in no time.

Gunn White: Real cute this one.

Vogon Poet: :) Mission accomplished. Appreciate that.

Buenos Aires Photoblog: Don't worry. No dogs were harmed in the making of this blog post! ;)

Thanks all for helping us highlight this hot issue.

supercute! not surprisingly right up my alley as far as dog style goes, my guardian of important stuff would have a lot to discuss with this fellow i bet...;)

and about dogs left in cars, summer or otherwise really, people are just plain weird...:(

Only a fool leaves a dog in a hot car on a hot day!

Can't do it in Florida in the summer!

What a cutie. Bischons (sp?) are the greatest!

Someone suggested that the way we treat animals is a good indicator of the ethical quality in a society. I might want to add people into the equation as well but there's certainly a grain of truth to this.

Pia K: My thoughts precisely. I can easily imagine him (?) and Malte spending one of these dog days together.

Jacob: The new Prius is said to have sun powered ventilation for those hot parking moments. As long as there are humans around to look after things I suppose that'll be spiffy.

JM: He more or less composed himself, really. It seemed like he wanted to be noticed and his wish was thus fulfilled...

Thanks folks.
