nocturne for hedvig eleonora (3)

...previously on pixels

The dome of Hedvig Eleonora Church was added in the 19th century. Ingmar Bergman's father was a parish minister here in the 20th century. Here's a parting shot from the 21st century as we leave Hedvig Eleonora for a while.

The sky is such a beautiful shade of purpley-blue. Lovely photo!

Interesting to know about Ingmar's father. Amazing dark blue sky... AGAIN! :-)

When you talk about Ingmar Bergman, I have read his mothers diary, or parts of it, called "Ingrids bok" (the book of Ingrid).
Very interesting that his father, after the death of his whife, reading the diaries, understood that he had never known the woman who he had been married to so many years......
I hope he is sleeping in peace near this church.

A bit overexposed but I like it all the same.

Julie: What time of year did you visit Stockholm? Hope we can bring back some nice memories as well as presenting some new angles.

Halcyon: Thanks, I was delighted by that sky and having a beautiful church in the foreground isn't too bad either...

JM: I didn't have a clue about that particular piece of history but Wikipedia works miracles sometimes... :)

Lena Johansson: Sounds real sad... walking through life with someone you don't know until reading her diary when she's gone...

Incidentally, this shot is a remake of a photo I was pretty happy with once upon a time. The weather was a lot better this time around of course.

Thanks all for stopping by.

I have to correct myself, the name of Ingmars mother was Karin.NOT Ingrid, I am sorry for remebering wrong name.

Simply beautiful...

There are so many churches in and around this city and sometimes I'd want to go get them all for you.

Lena Johansson: Thanks for your attention to detail.

humanobserver: I suppose just about any amount of exposure is OK as long as it looks fine... ;)

Again, thanks all.

A favourite dome of mine, no doubt. Thanks, Tinsie.
