Queen Hedvig Eleonora died in 1715. This round church from 1737 by Östermalm Square bears her name.

Nice picture, I have been there many times, Ostemalm, close to the square witht the food market. Great building.

Oh my, what breathtaking architecture and the picture captures it nicely. Thank you for this photo.

The church looks amazing!
The colour on the windows is the reflection of the gorgeous blue sky or is it light inside?

We'll return for a third shot from this afternoon by Hedvig Eleonora.

MaCoBra: That's right, next to the square. There's some construction work going on there these days so the square is not quite as inviting as we're used to.

Carrie Flicka: I'm very fond of this church and it's so strategically located that I frequently find opportunities to return there.

JM: This was shot before a New Year's Prayer so the church was in fact open.

Appreciate all your comments!

Very nice lights, the blue sky and the light door.

Here is some architecture that has withstood the test of time.

Lena Johansson: This is the season when we appreciate light the most...

arctic dreamer: You should see them from the inside!

Thanks.
